Sweet
Seats at the Padre's game
July 4th weekend,
2003 was the best July 4th I've had in a long time. For at least
the past 10 years I've spent the 4th in Arizona. Let me tell you
that 4th of July in Arizona sucks!! The best you can do is valet
park your car to see some fireworks for a half hour. Whoopeee!.
Well that's why I headed to San Diego, California this year. On
the last day of that trip my friend Angela and her boyfriend Dave
had extra tickets to the Padre's game. They didn't just have an
old regular ticket, they hooked me up with sweet seats in the dugout
section. These seats were on the field and we were catered to like
kings. To get to our seats we had to take an elevator down to the
locker room section and through the same hallway the players use.
Since the Pad's were playing the SF Giants, we were keeping a close
watch on Barry Bonds.

We ate and drank like champs and everything
was included. Angela was on the big screen tv during the first inning.
We all thought "Hey, that girl kind of looks like Ang."
and then all of a sudden it hit us that it was her!! Duhh. We also
got a foul ball as it landed on the protective net above us. And
to top it off, our server gave us a couple of old-school Padre hats.
The Giants wound up winning 3-2 and Barry didn't do anything spectacular
at all. It didn't matter because I am a Yankee fan but, it was a
perfect day and a perfect way to end the 4th of July weekend. We
played frisbee in the parking lot until traffic lightened up and
then we drove back to Phoenix. End of story. Thanks again Angela
and Dave.
