I love going to the movies. How many times have you asked a friend how they liked a movie and their answer convinces you to go see it? Do you wind up disappointed? Hopefully I can provide some insight to help you decide if its worth taking a trip to the theater. If you've seen these movies and want to add your own comments then email me. Movie

Beowulf: Stop whatever you are doing and go see this movie. If you hurry you can catch the 3D version and have arrows fly at you from the screen. I remembered only the name of this story from Junior High. I didn't pay much attention to any previews and didn't think much to see this movie until a friend put it on the "must-go-see" list. You wont be disappointed. Dont be turned off by the computer animation.. this is the best quality you will see. BTW this is not meant for kids. Lots of carnage and scary stuff going on.

300: Its been a loong time since the movie Gladiator has been unsurpassed. Although 300 dosent quite make it pass Maximus and company it holds its weight in comparison. Great story, great effects and visuals as well as awesome fighting scenes. Some unrealistic creatures but who cares it makes for great entertainment.

Chicken Little: I barely remember anything from my childhood about Chicken Little. The movie set me straight right away because they get to "the sky is falling" cry that he is famous for. I don't know if the story was ever tied to aliens but Disney puts it together very well. CL's friends are the funniest characters in the move: Ugly duckling, Fish out of water and that Fat pig. Of course the movie has a message, which adds a little bit of sappiness (hence the half star) but you have to expect that. Kids or no kids you will like this movie.

Ghost Rider: Set in Los Angeles in the 1940's, a dynamic duo pair of cops try to solve the murder of a young Hollywood starlet. Too many stories that are hard to keep track of and then when the main murder plot is revealed you still feel like you need the Cliff Notes. Interesting at times but more confusing. The acting is good but the story takes too many turns. Wait for it on cable.

Babel: I haven;t seen Ed norton in a movie for a while. Good thing too because he must be picky selecting good scripts. This one takes you back to 19th century Vienna where Norton's character is a master magician who returns to his hometown years after being banished. Jessica Biel is the love interest who is torn between her new life of royalty and the one she wants with Norton. Great story with twists and turns that make you wait until the very end to reveal the tricks behind the great illusion.
Paul Giamatti does a great job as the chief inspector looking for any reason to arrest the Illusionist.

Rocky Balboa : Usually I go to the movies to be entertained, to laugh, to be scared, not to be depressed, but I couldn't resist going to see this one though..probably becuase I am a New Yorker and I am still fascinated by 9-11. Oliver Stone hits the nail on the head with this one. There's no controversy, no scapegoating, just honest story telling. Don't expect to see any gore. There's no carnage, no horrific shots of people jumping to their deaths, not even a clip of a plane crashing into the building. The story stays on the ground and focuses on two Port Authority cops' struggle to stay alive. Fascinating, realistic and a sad reminder of that day.
